What Concerns Can Icon Improve?

Since Icon includes multiple modalities (1540 fractional non-ablative laser, and MaxG IPL Photofacial handpieces) in a single device, the treatment sessions can efficiently address several skin care concerns at once, which reduces the need for several different types of treatments. At the same time, an Icon treatment can be customized or adjusted as necessary according to skin tone and each patient's desired results.

In addition to the laser and IPL Photofacial technology, the Icon system comes with several patented features built into it to maximize comfort and efficacy, such as

Treatment from a MaxG IPL hand piece can improve and or remove facial and leg veins, hyperpigmentation, pigmented lesions, brown spots, red spots, redness, scars, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and unwanted hair.

Treatment from the 1540 Fractional non-ablative laser can improve and or remove stretch marks, injury or surgical scars, and acne scarring. It can also improve the tone and texture of your skin.

  • A melanin reader that determines the average melanin density of each patient prior to treatment and adjusts its range of settings to the safest standards
  • A cooling system that maintains a steady temperature of about 41° F to enhance comfort and protect the skin from overheating
  • Dual filters that help prevent unnecessary injury to the surrounding skin

The Icon can address several of the most common skin concerns, including facial and leg veins, redness, scars resulting from surgery, acne, or other problems. It reduces stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, age spots, and other lesions that form due to cumulative sun exposure.

ThreeForMe Laser + IPL Photofacial Treatments

The ThreeForMe treatment can only be performed using the Icon system. As the name suggests, it targets three primary concerns—fine lines and wrinkles, facial veins, and signs of sun damage—to improve the overall health and appearance of your skin. Because an IPL Photofacial is involved, you may also see some other improvements in pore size, texture, and tone. The result is a brighter and fresher-looking face.

There are two main steps or "passes":

  • IPL Photofacial will treat discoloration, such as sun damage-induced freckles, brown spots, or age spots, as well as broken capillaries, spider veins, and rosacea or redness in the skin.
  • A microbeam laser will work to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin to increase the skin’s firmness and elasticity, and address surface concerns such as scars, fine lines, and wrinkles and reduce irregularities like acne scaring.

What to Expect from an Icon Laser + IPL Photofacial Treatment Session

Each fractional laser and IPL Photofacial treatment session with Icon lasts about 30 minutes, with many patients opting to schedule their visit during lunch breaks. Many patients see improvements within three treatments, though the exact number for each patient can vary depending on individual skin profiles.

There is minimal discomfort during each laser and/or IPL Photofacial session, and while there may be some mild to moderate redness and swelling, you should be able to resume your work and regular activities soon after your treatment session.
