Kybella® in Tucson
Eliminate Submental Fat
Non-surgical removal of unwanted fat beneath the chin.
While many women and men might not recognize the role the chin plays in helping to define the shape and appearance of the face, a 2015 American Society for Dermatologic Surgery study revealed that 67 percent of respondents were concerned by submental fat—also known as a "double chin." Recent advances in technology have provided a nonsurgical method of reducing unwanted fullness beneath the chin: Kybella®. Tucson women and men who are eager to remove fat beneath the chin can do so with FDA-approved injections, preferably administered by a licensed and experienced professional.
An unfortunate fact about fat is that it often gathers in stubborn pockets and not all areas of fat respond equally to diet and exercise resulting in some women and men who are in good shape but have a double chin nonetheless. In many cases, this is the result of genetics and other factors beyond patients' control.
Kybella® is comprised of deoxycholic acid, which is a molecule that the body naturally produces to help the body break down and absorb fat. Once the fat cells are broken down, they are unable to produce new fat, making the effect of the treatment long-lasting. Kybella® is the first injectable treatment approved to eliminate fat beneath the chin, offering patients a quick, efficient, and noninvasive treatment option for submental fat.
Am I a Good Candidate for Kybella® Injections in Arizona?
The ideal Kybella® candidates are women and men over the age of 18 who have excess fat beneath the chin. Many patients are concerned that this fat makes them appear heavier than they actually are and are anxious to eliminate this fat through nonsurgical methods.
The best method of determining whether you are a good candidate for Kybella® is to schedule a consultation with one of our providers to discuss whether this is the right treatment to meet your particular needs. During the consultation, you will discuss your medical history, including any medications or vitamins you are currently taking. Chin infections, pregnancy and breastfeeding, previous cosmetic treatments in the chin or neck area, problems swallowing, and bleeding issues are all indications that an alternative treatment method might be more effective.
What Can I Expect During a Kybella® Injections Treatment in Tucson?
The first step to any treatment is to schedule a consultation, during which our licensed and experienced professional develops a personalized treatment plan that meets your aesthetic and financial needs. If you both agree that Kybella® is the appropriate treatment method for you, we will schedule an appointment.
The appointment itself only lasts about 20 minutes, during which the provider cleans the treatment area and administers multiple injections beneath the chin. The exact number of injections varies from patient to patient with a maximum of 50 during a single session. Anesthesia is not necessary but patients will be given ice to help numb the area.
Most Kybella® patients require multiple treatment sessions with a maximum of six. Kybella® treatments need to be spaced apart by at least one month. Results typically begin to appear about a month after treatment with continued improvement for several months. Positive effects are not always obvious after a single treatment.

Kybella® Risks and Recovery in Arizona
Following their Kybella® treatment, many patients experience swelling, bruising, redness, and numbness in the treatment area. We encourage patients to share concerns and ask questions at all phases of the treatment process, including calling with any questions following treatment. Patients can resume normal activities, including returning to work, although some patients prefer downtime immediately following their appointment. To minimize swelling, we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise in the first 72 hours following a Kybella® treatment.
Because swelling is the most significant side effect, we advise remaining hydrated and avoiding salty foods in the days and weeks following your treatment. Some patients rely on their wardrobe to help conceal the swelling, wearing scarves and turtlenecks.
How Much Do Kybella® Injections in Tucson Cost?
The costs of Kybella® treatments vary depending largely on the number of treatment sessions and the number of injections per session. As soon as we develop your personalized treatment plan during the consultation, we will discuss the estimated costs of that plan.
While cost is undeniably a factor for patients seeking cosmetic and dermatological treatment, it is vital that patients seek Kybella® treatment from medically trained and licensed administrators to ensure the best results and safest experience.
